Train your brain to find calm in even the most stressful of situations.
Chronic stress has been a real issue for many during this pandemic. Our yoga classes will help teach you to disconnect for your every day stressors and reconnect to your breath through breath work exercises and subtle reminders throughout your yoga practice.
The added benefit? Better flexibility, range of motion, and awareness of your both your physical and emotional self.
Just bring yourself and your yoga mat. All additional props are provided by TYB if the class requires them. Treat these practices as a mini retreat away from the every day.
Types of Classes:
These classes are your best bet for finding a little bit of calm and relaxation.
Yoga Foundations: Foundations is a really great practice for anyone who is relatively new to yoga and wants to learn how to set themselves up correctly in each pose. Foundations is strongly focused on cuing for proper alignment and giving variations so that each pose best suits your body and your practice. An intro to some breathing techniques is also done each class. This practice is good for a first yoga class.
Yoga Stretch: This one is a studio favourite! A yoga prop called a yoga strap is used in this practice to stretch out the hamstrings, hips, and lower back. Complimentary poses are given before and after our yoga strap sequence to make sure you leave this practice feeling stretched out and relaxed. This practice is good for a first yoga class.
Yoga Yin: Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of training such as barre, spin, or even yoga flow/foundations. Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of exercise that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
Slow Yoga Flow: We start to introduce a vinyasa style of yoga practice in slow flow from a beginners mindset. Unlike the other 3 yoga practices we offer, this one has a little more up and down movement but the tempo of the practice is slower than a traditional flow class. Give this one a try if you have a little familiarity with yoga.
NOTE: Our yoga classes are suited for all yoga and experience levels. If you have any physical limitations (such as a bad knee, hip, back, etc) let the instructor know before class so they can give you proper variations when needed.
